Saudi Arabia Dominates The Overwatch World Cup 2023

The Overwatch World Cup 2023 showcased an incredibly thrilling final day, as each series extended to five maps. The grand finals were equally intense, featuring a strong performance from Saudi Arabia’s team.


The Overwatch World Cup 2023 tournament was the latest one to take place, and concluded with Saudi Arabia’s ambitious team taking home the trophy and winning against China, becoming the first team in the Middle East to win the tournament. 

The win has brought in new Overwatch champions, breaking the superiority of the United States and South Korea, which was all witnessed by an enthusiastic live audience at BlizzCon 2023. 

Saudi Arabia Dominates The Overwatch World Cup 2023

The tournament took place at the Anaheim Convention Center, from the 29th of October to the 4th of November, and it consisted of 16 teams competing for the grand prize, $365,000 USD.

Saudi Arabia emerged from Group D with a flawless record, securing 2-0 victories against the United States, Japan, and France. They continued their success into the quarterfinals, defeating Spain 3-0. While the road ahead was challenging, Saudi Arabia persevered.

In the semifinals, Saudi Arabia took an early lead by winning the first two games, but Finland made a comeback, leading to a closely contested final match. Despite the formidable opponent, China, in the grand finals, Saudi Arabia displayed their best performance, winning 3-2. They claimed the title of Overwatch world champions before an enthusiastic audience.
