Vuse and the McLaren F1 Team recently unveiled their collaboration with emerging Saudi artist Nujood Al-Otaibi, showcasing her unique creative style in designing the McLaren MCL60 car livery at the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Nujood, whose artistic journey has been shaped by her hearing impairment, joins the Driven by Change community as the latest addition.

Inspired by her distinct experience of sound due to partial hearing loss at a young age, Nujood has channeled her emotions through art. Her artistic expression stems from a different perception of sound, influencing the patterns and designs in her livery artwork. Depicting her hometown’s rolling sand dunes and ocean waves, Nujood’s livery captures her interpretation of sound in a truly distinctive manner.

Her carefully detailed, hyper-realistic style, cultivated through years of dedication and following her father’s artistic footsteps, is showcased in this original artwork. Nujood honed her craft at the Driven by Change residency at Studio Thirteen in Dubai, where the inspiration for the livery emerged from her earlier artworks.

Nujood Al-Otaibi shared her perspective, saying, “My perception of sound varies everywhere I go. A moment at the beach, where I unexpectedly heard clearly without my hearing aid, became a pivotal inspiration for my art. Driven by Change has allowed me to bring this experience to life and embrace my hearing impairment in my unique artistic expression.”

This collaboration signifies the third year of Vuse and the McLaren F1 team’s support for budding artists through Driven by Change. The initiative aims to empower underrepresented creatives by providing them with amazing opportunities within the world of motorsport, offering a global platform to showcase their talent.
