You don’t have to be the CSR manager to make this work. Initiatives can be suggested to the CSR manager or you can approach higher management with one of these activities.

1. Blood Donation Drive
Why: From natural disasters to unforeseen calamities, emergency hospital procedures to life-long battles with chronic diseases, the demand for blood is constant. The supply is not. And since there is no substitute, only volunteer blood donors can roll up their sleeves and save lives.

How: Arrange an appointment with the blood bank on a day when most of the office employees are available.

2. Pilgrims Assistance
Why: As the number of annual pilgrims the country sees on a yearly basis is increasing, there is a growing need for volunteer services during Hajj, especially to guide foreign pilgrims who cannot speak Arabic or English.

How: Get in touch with organizations that provide voluntary services to pilgrims (i.e. food distribution, medical aid, guiding pilgrims, etc.)

3. Sponsor an Orphan
Why: There is nothing more satisfying than letting children realize their dreams by providing them with education, empowerment and tools of self-reliance.

How: Local charities have orphan sponsorship programs starting from SR 150 per month for one child. This doesn’t only include education but also healthcare, food and clothing. Your organization can sponsor a number of orphans and even employees in the company can pool in money and sponsor orphans.

4. Beach Cleanup
Why: Beach cleanups are definitely one of the easiest ways to give back to the community, while you at the same time enjoy the activity with your coworkers. And yes our Jeddah beach needs regular cleanups and you know it!

How: All you have to do is just spend a few hours collecting trash off a local beach. To make it fun you can split in teams and focus on team-building activities.

5. Support a Cause Through Partnerships

Why: This is vital for the positive impact a company has on its local community and is important to the nonprofit that may not have the resources for large scale marketing campaigns.

How: There are lots of NGO’s across the Kingdom that stand by numerous causes ranging from women empowerment to supporting families of prisoners. You can partner with NGO’s that support the cause that forms the core values of your company. Partnership shouldn’t be limited to monetary assistance.
