You’re back from a party and you’re exhausted. The best part of makeup is putting it on and feeling prettier than usual. The worst? Getting it off.
We women love our makeup routines. But, we must admit, there are just too many chemicals involved, and good makeup removers cost a lot and contain a lot of harmful chemicals. Here are some methods which won’t wreck your skin in the long run:
1. Natural Oils
Use olive, coconut or almond oil (there are many more to choose from). Simply dab some oil on your cotton pad and remove the makeup layer by layer. The benefit of this is that your skin will actually get moisturized in the process. You will avoid the dryness that store-bought makeup removers cause.
2. Honey and Baking Soda
It will feel great, and this mixture will remove any kind of makeup from your face. Of course, make sure you avoid direct contact with your eyes. Make a paste of one tablespoon of each of honey and baking soda. Mix well. Use a washcloth or cotton pad to remove the makeup.
3. Baby Lotion
Go for a brand you trust when it comes to baby lotion. Not only does it work amazingly as a makeup remover, it is also an excellent moisturizer, especially if you have sensitive skin.
4. Vaseline
Before you freak out, let us assure you that Vaseline is not all that bad for the skin. A lot of people are afraid of Vaseline on their skin. But it works as an amazing makeup remover and is gentle. You can wash your face afterwards if you prefer going to bed with fresh skin.
5. Steam
Use a facial steamer or simply fill the basin with hot water. It’s perfect for removing residual makeup from the face.
6. Baby Wipes
These are our favorite on the list. They’re efficient and good to the skin. They’re meant for babies, so you can be assured that they work! Simply grab a baby wipe and use it to wipe off the makeup. Always be gentler on your eyes if you have applied mascara, regardless of which makeup removing method you’re using. If you have a lot of makeup on, you’ll need at least 2-3 wipes. Wash your face afterwards.
