The festivities unfold in the week leading up to Saudi National Day, featuring local artists who showcase their remarkable creativity and talent.
In collaboration with Ahlam Gallery, a renowned hub for modern and contemporary art, Shangri-La Jeddah hosts a range of art activities for guests, visitors, and art enthusiasts.
From September 18th to the 23rd, Ahlam Gallery conducts a Live Art Marathon at the property. This unprecedented event allows guests to witness Jeddah-based artists collaborating to create a magnificent masterpiece on an impressive 6-meter canvas. This five-day art marathon, followed by additional empty canvases for guest participation until the 23rd of September, embodies the patriotic spirit of National Day and is a captivating showcase of artistic prowess.
To mark the 93rd National Day, Shangri-La Jeddah presents a historical monument: a 160-year-old Hijazi door from Makkah. Visitors are invited to step back in time, capturing timeless moments. Additionally, guests can immerse themselves in Saudi heritage through a Roshan-inspired photobooth—a perfect backdrop for creating cherished memories.
Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness renowned artist Najla Abdulshakour during her two-day residency in one of Shangri-La Jeddah’s suites. Guests can observe the suite’s transformation into captivating works of art, beautifully blending tradition and modernity.
The talents of artist Ahmed Angawi, creator of the COPA Roshan ceiling, will also be on display. This installation showcases his ability to seamlessly merge tradition and innovation while exploring the rich history of the Roshan—an architectural gem that has withstood the test of time
