In a significant milestone for cultural preservation, the Jeddah Historic District Program, in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Al Balad Development Company, a PIF Company, proudly announces the official opening of the first three heritage hotels in the iconic Jeddah Historic District, Al Balad.
Under the of the Ministry of Culture, these heritage hotels underwent meticulous restoration, preserving their remarkable architectural elements. The restoration adheres to the highest global standards and UNESCO guidelines, recognizing Jeddah Historic District as a World Heritage Site since 2014.
The three heritage hotels – Beit Jokhdar, Beit Al-Rayess, and Beit Kedwan – represent a modern vision to present and showcase the Kingdom’s rich heritage. Each building offers a unique design, focusing on the history of the region and showcasing distinct architectural designs.
- Beit Al-Rayess: Characterized by its interior design, featuring rooms overlooking a charming courtyard enveloped by columns decorated with stone arches.
- Beit Kedwan: Strategically located near Naseef Square in the Al-Alawi Market, showing unique historical significance.
- Beit Jokhdar: Known for its expansive wooden balconies adorned with intricate decorations, among the largest in the region.
In a recent development, the Jeddah Historic District Program and Al Balad Development Company formalized an agreement for the operation of these heritage hotels, encompassing a total of 34 heritage houses. Albalad Hospitality, the operational arm of Al Balad Development Company, will oversee the management of the hotels. The goal is to provide unparalleled, authentic hospitality experiences rooted in the region’s deep culture while upholding a commitment to heritage preservation.
