Yes, you read that right! I know most of you are thinking it is impossible, but trust me when there is a will there is a way. Most people complain about how busy their lives are and that they have no time for gym, well guess what….you don’t really need a gym!
During Ramadan most females, specifically speaking, are caught up with cooking for Iftar and this can be one of the major areas where they can actually burn calories.
I’ve come up with at least 10 active ways you can burn calories in any event or situation whether its in Ramadan or not. These points should help you in becoming more active without the need of having a gym membership!
1. Redecorate
Move things around your living room, bedroom, kitchen, etc.

2. Use commercials as a break to get up and move
You can do jumping jacks for a minute or more, or you can just simply just walk around your living room.

3. Do household chores with more intensity
For example sweeping the floor you can tighten your ab muscles, flex your arm muscles, or clench your glutes.

4. Play with the kids
If you have kids, it’s a great idea to play any game that requires movements for example hide and seek, some active games on play station, etc!

5. Use the stairs
I’m sure you’ve heard this a million times! DO IT!

6. Walk while talking on the phone

7. Use social events as an excuse to stand up or walk around and chat with people.

8. Go shopping
Even if you don’t need anything, you can walk around the stores as a way of entertainment.

9. Do brief exercises while getting ready for an event
You can do a couple of squats, while styling your hair.

10. For those who spend the day in the kitchen getting ready for iftar, make sure you are standing while cooking
For example while rolling samboosas.

These are just simple ways of incorporating movements in our daily lives, I’m hoping that most of you, will actually consider starting with these simple ideas!
