The Historical Jeddah Program announces the launch of “Art Town” events, running from December 7 to March 9, under the theme “Moving Forward.”
The Historical Jeddah Program aims to revive the historical significance of Old Jeddah through collaborative efforts from Athr Al-Ahliyah Foundation, the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, Zawiya 97, Sawt Al-Balad, local institutions, companies, and businesses. Their cooperation intends to bolster the local economy and transform it into a cultural and tourist hub.
“Art Town,” through the universal language of art, seeks to enhance the Kingdom’s cultural landscape and offer unique sensory experiences. The program aims to raise awareness and encourage visits to Historical Jeddah by presenting art exhibitions, musical programs, diverse theatrical shows, local restaurants, and educational visits to enrich students with artistic content.
Abdulaziz Ibrahim Al-Essa, the General Supervisor of the Historical Jeddah Program, stated that the “Art Town” launch aims to enhance cultural interaction in Historical Jeddah, transforming the region into a significant cultural destination, fostering cultural projects, and attracting entrepreneurs, aligning with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals.
Hamza Sairafi, Chairman of Athr Al-Ahliyah Foundation, emphasized that “Art Town” is central to the Foundation’s goals of promoting art in society. The initiative collaborates with partners to create sustainable programs supporting artists and bolstering the Kingdom’s artistic journey.
