Saudi Fashion Commission Launches ‘Tashkeela’ Exhibition with 160+ Designers

Last Saturday, the Saudi Fashion Commission introduced the “Tashkeela” exhibition by Saudi 100 Brands at the Riyadh Front Exhibition Center. More than 160 Saudi designers, including students and graduates of the Saudi 100 Brands mentorship program, joined designers from Arab and international countries, sharing expertise and knowledge they had within this field.


 

The “Tashkeela” exhibition lasts for four days and gives local talents and brands a chance to display their newest collections in various fashion categories such as, ready-to-wear, Haute Couture, accessories, bags, shoes, jewelry, and perfumes. It tends to bring together a wide audience, including fashion experts, local influencers, business investors, and fashion lovers interested in the latest trends and supporting local brands.

Burak Cakmak, CEO of the Saudi Fashion Commission, mentioned that, “the decision to host a second edition of the exhibition came after the impressive success of the first edition, which drew a crowd of 22,000 visitors over 4 days, and in which the participating Saudi young talents received positive feedback on their collections and designs, adding to that the keenness of global brands to take part in the exhibition, accumulating to a total of 200 exhibiting brands this year. Therefore, the number of visitors is expected to surpass last year’s and the sales of Saudi fashion Brands are expected to increase, moreover, we are witnessing tangible excitement from the international brands participating in the exhibition today, making us optimistic about a greater success to come.”

Cakmak emphasized the Fashion Commission’s primary objective is “to empower the fashion sector locally and globally, facilitating Saudi brands’ access to retail markets within the kingdom and worldwide, while highlighting Saudi talents and providing them with a platform to showcase their culture and creativity. The “Tashkeela” exhibition serves as a tool for business growth and elevating Saudi fashion brands to international standards.”

Cakmak concluded by mentioning “The Fashion Commission is committed to fostering a sustainable future for the fashion sector by showcasing Saudi talents, offering growth opportunities, engaging stakeholders, and amplifying the global impact of their designs by showcasing them to a broader audience.”

The Saudi 100 Brands program is crucial in helping Saudi designers succeed in the local and global market, providing them with the necessary tools, advanced courses, workshops,and  mentoring that they need, as well as professional development led by global experts. The main objective of the program  is to raise Saudi products to international levels, focus on new and emerging designers’ works and help them thrive globally. The program also gives them a chance to take part in well known fashion weeks such as New York, Paris and Milan.
