More than 70 international and regional artists perform against stunning projections within the walls of Jeddah’s iconic Old Town, known as Al-Balad.

Saudi music and entertainment company MDLBEAST has today announced plans for an iconic new two-day, multi-genre music and arts festival that will take place in the heart of Jeddah’s Old Town later this year.

Balad Beast will welcome more than 70 international and local artists when it lands inside the ancient walls of the Old Town – known as Al-Balad – December 9-10.

Set against the traditional neighborhood’s historic backdrop – itself a UNESCO World Heritage site – the festival will be the MDLBEAST brand’s first time hosting an event of this scale in Jeddah and will bring with it a one-of-a-kind lighting and image projection system that will reawaken Al-Balad’s centuries’ old surrounds, writing a new and exciting story for the popular ancient spot.

Local and international artists from hip-hop, EDM, house, and techno will perform across five different stages as fans can enjoy performances from the afternoon through the night on both days.

In partnership with the old town program within the Ministry of Culture, MDLBEAST is engaging the wider community from homeowners to businesses and local employees to get involved in bringing to life this incredible festival. In pursuit of safety protocols, the event organizers will also be conducting a sound study to measure the vibrations within existing buildings and ensure their safety.
