From elite esports tournaments and thrilling music concerts to entertaining activities, immersive attractions, and much more, the biggest gaming and esports festival worldwide has provided visitors and fans with world-class experiences at each and every turn.
With six weeks of the summer spectacle’s blockbuster calendar behind us and a grand finale fast approaching, attentions have turned to what promises to be an unforgettable, drama-filled, action-packed penultimate weekend.
And what a weekend ahead. Organized by the Saudi Esports Federation, the Gamers8 weekend seven schedule is nothing short of ‘must attend’. With various things sure to excite and delight people of all ages, Boulevard Riyadh City is the only place to be. Here are eight things everyone should check out:
- PUBG Global Series 2
Eleven days of adrenaline-fueled excitement are set to conclude at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes this weekend as the edge-of-your-seat PUBG Global Series 2 (PGS2) reaches a thrilling climax. Running throughout the weekend until August 20, PGS2 is PUBG Esports’ global-level offline tournament where 24 of the planet’s very best teams have been battling it out for survival, supremacy, and their share of the $2 million prize pool. The coming days will see those left standing attempt to secure victory and glory by parachuting onto the remote island below and prevailing as the last survivors by neutralizing opponents during this epic battle royale encounter.
- Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO)
The world’s best are gathered at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes and on the offensive for the five-day CS:GO tournament – with $1 million up for grabs. 16 teams are going head-to-head in the multi-player tactical first-person shooter tournament, amidst intense action. There is stiff competition among the 16 participating teams from around the world. MIBR (Brazil) and Fnatic (UK) claimed their places by securing regional victories in the North American and European regional contests at Gamers Without Borders, with Team Falcons (Saudi Arabia), Apeks and Heroic (Norway), Cloud9 and FaZe Clan (USA), G2 Esports and Gamer Legion (Germany), ENCE (Finland), FURIA Esports (Brazil), Team Liquid (Netherlands), Natus Vincere (Ukraine), Team Vitality (France), and Virtus.pro (Russia) also vying for the winners’ share. Simply put, CS:GO is a must-see event.
- 2023 Afro-Arab eSports League
The wait is finally over. A number of regional and international tournaments have taken place at Gamers8: The Land of Heroes so far this season and the next one gets underway this weekend. Running from 19-22 August, the AFRO-ARAB League, under the umbrella of the Arab Esports Federation, welcomes 40 players from over 20 federations from the African and Arab regions to compete in challenging conditions – in double elimination format. The players and teams involved will compete for top prizes across renowned titles.
- Week 7 Concert
Get ready to be transported to a whole new dimension of music! That’s right, more of your favorite artists are returning to the Gamers8: The Land of Heroes main stage as part of the latest concert line-up. From hip-hop to electric dance music and everything in between, there’s something for everyone at Boulevard Riyadh City over the next few days. American rap sensation Tyga tops the bill, who since his major label debut in 2011 has released seven albums with chart-topping hits, collaborated with global superstars like Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, and amassed a 41.4 million-strong Instagram following. Also on the bill is DJ and producer Steve Aoki. Previously the highest-grossing EDM artist in North America from tours, he too has released seven studio albums to date and worked with artists including will.i.am, Alan Walker, and Fall Out Boy. Fans are also in for a treat as popular Lebanese singer Myriam Fares performs some of her best hits for a capacity crowd under the lights, while Saudi superstar Cosmicat – a trailblazing player in the Saudi Arabian music scene – completes this weekend’s star-studded cast.

- DigiPen Music & Sound Design Studio
Running from August 19-26 at GameDevZone at Boulevard Riyadh City from 6-10.30pm, immerse yourself in the world of game audio at the incredible Music & Sound Design Studio and create captivating soundscapes that enhance gameplay experiences. The relationship between music and gaming is becoming ever closer and an even more important part of the overall gaming experience. This course then is a hugely important aspect of game development – as well as being incredibly interesting and very good fun!
- Esports Debates
Running from August 20-29, Esports Debates is an engaging program that encourages students to practice important skills such as critical thinking, deliberation, and oral presentation. Join educational debates that revolve around esports topics and issues, fostering intellectual growth and promoting thoughtful discussions among participants. Enhance your communication skills while gaining valuable insights into the world of esports. The eight-day course, which runs from 6pm – 10.30pm each day, is at GameDevZone at Boulevard Riyadh City, and is for those aged 18 and over.
