At Destination, we had the chance to explore the wonders of French cream during a special afternoon tea event featuring Chef Tom Coll from Burj al Arab in Dubai. The event was a hands-on exploration of the versatility of French cream in pastry. Chef Coll showcased various pastries, revealing the ingredient’s different states and textures, offering attendees a practical understanding of French cream’s diversity.


The significance of high-quality ingredients in culinary artistry was highlighted during the event. Marie-Laure Martin, representing the French Dairy Board, emphasized the importance of quality ingredients in making the culinary experiences more memorable. The French Dairy Board’s mission is to promote dairy products, and they have been running a campaign in Saudi for approximately eight years. 

“Using top-notch French cream or butter enhances the quality of recipes significantly. Quality ingredients, like super high-quality chocolate or cream, make a huge difference in the result,” said Marie-Laure

The gathering focused on the essence of French dairy products, primarily French cheese and cream. Discussions included their adaptability to global cuisines and their pivotal role in worldwide culinary recipes. Marie-Laure Martin mentioned, “French cheeses, cream, and butter are culinary staples appreciated globally for their versatility and ability to elevate various cuisines.” 

 

In addition, the quality of French ingredients and their alignment with Saudi Arabia’s future food industry was also emphasized. The goal is to introduce these high-quality products to enhance culinary experiences and meet the demands of the evolving local market. The focus was also on promoting their high-quality standards, aiming to become the top choice for chefs in retail and food service, highlighting the importance of selecting the best ingredients for different dishes.

 

Enhancing Culinary Experiences with Quality French Ingredients

Chef Tom Coll , the master chef of the event, highlighted the importance of French ingredients quoting, “We prepared four  different desserts of four different textures of creams, and the idea is to promote and showcase the quality of french cream. For me personally, it is important to use French cream in almost any recipe, to enhance the quality of any dish.”

 

This gathering highlighted the French Dairy Board’s commitment to promoting the excellence of French dairy products, emphasizing the importance of quality ingredients in creating one of a kind and wholesome culinary experiences.
