Meet our emerging artist of the month!

Can you tell us about yourself?
A lost 23-year old who just graduated from the field of Computer Science & Digital Media at Prince Sultan University.

What do you do when you’re not making art?
You’ll find me binge watching Mad Men or watching tutorials.

What’s your medium? What got you into it?
My medium is mainly videography but I’ve lately been dabbling with graphic design and animation. What got me into it was by watching movies and thinking of wanting to make something like that. I’ve always wanted to make my own, hopefully I will someday, for now I’m trying to find my style and learn more technical skills to be able to grow in this field.

What kind of artworks inspire you?
I’d say all types of artwork inspire me but I think music is inspiring me the most lately.

Why do you do art?
I honestly do it to get the ideas that are in my head out and I find joy in working on any project that comes up.

How would you describe your style?
I’m still trying to figure that out and that’s why if you visit any of my social media platforms you won’t find a lot of work because I keep changing and deleting, but I’ve been experimenting with a lot of new techniques and finding my way with them. Especially trying to make my concepts stronger.

How do you get your inspiration?
I get inspired by everything around me from music to just learning about my own culture and also by simply observing people around me.

Have you ever collaborated with anyone? Who?
I have actually, Duha Al Hosainy for special effects makeup. We turned a man to a manwich. If you go to Destination Riyadh’s YouTube channel you can find the video.

What’s next for you in terms of pursuing art?
I’d like to make more art, something visually pleasing as well as making it as I imagine it in my mind. I would like to collaborate with artists as well, create something different.
