The theatrical production “The Television” held at Mohammed Al Ali Theater in Boulevard City was a hit among visitors of Riyadh Season 2023. The audience was thoroughly entertained by the play, especially by the witty and impromptu exchanges between Hassan Al-Raddad and Amy Ghanem.
Hassan Al-Raddad, the lead actor in the play, expressed his commitment to participate in Riyadh Season annually, aiming to bring fresh entertainment to the audience. He emphasized that with the wide range of plays from various Arab countries during Riyadh season, the competition has reached its peak, motivating him to present exceptional theatrical performances.
The play is part of a lineup of Arab and Gulf plays that are shown during Riyadh Season. It revolves around the central character, Uncle Hazoumbel, who arrives with gifts for the married couple, Hefzi and Karawaneh. However, due to a delay of 30 years, these gifts are no longer suitable for them. Intrigued, the couple decides to explore the contents of Uncle Hazoumbel’s gift bag and discover a magical television inside. Through this television, they find themselves transported to different channels, taking part in various events and details, all while being controlled by a child with a remote control. This leads to a series of comical situations that question the couple’s fate, where their lives will ultimately lead, and whether they will be able to return to their normal lives once again.
The play features the participation of many talented artists, including Mohammed Osama (also known as “Aws Aws”), Suleiman Eid, Mahmoud Hafez, Badriya Tolba, and Ahmed Al-Abdul Hadi.
