‘The Last of Us’ Soars with Its Views on OSN+!

The critically acclaimed HBO series, ‘The Last of Us’, created a buzz with its audience with high viewership.   

The show has displayed a unique display, and with that, it has gained a high number of viewership in the Middle East ever since the launch of the show last on OSN and OSN+ a month ago. And you’ve heard it here, the show is renewed for a SECOND SEASON.

Written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, Ahead of a globe-wide pandemic that ends up destroying civilization, one of the last ones standing is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone, this girl who could just be the last hope for humanity. Actors Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey portray the characters ‘Joel and Ellie’. Gabriel Luna also displays the role of Tommy who is Joel’s younger brother and former soldier. 

The series is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and is executive produced by Carolyn Strauss, Evan Wells, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan, and Rose Lam. Production companies: PlayStation Productions, Word Games, The Mighty Mint, and Naughty Dog.

This has also opened a new door for new viewers after ‘The Last of Us’. OSN+ has experienced a 15% increase in viewership since the premiere. The show continues to thrive with its strong and ongoing growth across the regional markets like Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and more. 

With the execution of an ongoing regional 360 marketing campaign, the launch of the series has exceeded all expectations to become OSN+’s largest premiere second only to ‘House of the Dragon’ and contributing to the streaming platform’s climb to the top three of regional app stores in the past three weeks.

The show also created an even bigger buzz online and throughout the social media platforms where it trended as number 1 worldwide on Twitter. To even add more to the buzz, the show’s trailers have reached more than 100 million views!

What about the critics?
Rotten Tomatoes’ critic score reached 97% while Rolling Stone called it “HBO’s next big hit”. Variety also said, “one sees the near future in which the show winds up among television’s best.” And we say, it is one of the most heartwarming shows to date!
