The Hunt for Ice Cream

The Hunt for Ice Cream

Hottest Coolest ice cream places in town!

It was a particularly hot day when one of my friends suggested to go on an ice cream hunt, hopping from one ice cream shop to the other.

Bellamia

bellamiagelato_khobar_2017_aa-1We began our journey at Bellamia and ordered the Mascarpone cheese with caramelized figs and the dark chocolate. The odd combination of the first flavor made it intriguing and, even though we had our doubts, it was surprisingly good. The dark chocolate, though, was rich, decadent and not your average chocolate ice cream. Both were very smooth and velvety in texture.

Cold Stone Creamery

coldstone_amwajmall_khobar_2017_aa-3We were pleased and excited as we left and headed to our next stop: Cold Stone. There were so many flavors to choose from, but we ultimately went with peanut butter ice cream with brownies. It was a huge portion, and even though I’m not a big fan of peanut butter, watching the girls jump in and seeing their reactions convinced me to give it a shot.

It was magnificent. And the brownies added this lovely chewiness that mixed well with the peanut butter. Definitely filled us up quick.

G Glace

Their displays were enticing and I wanted to try all the flavors, but we landed on a mix of pistachio and Fererro Rocher flavor which complemented each other well. The Ferrero Rocher tasted like the real deal, and my friend commented on how “the crunchy bits in it make it very Ferrero-Rocher-like, so extra points for them.” The pistachio left a strong lingering aftertaste that left me happy for the rest of the hunt.

Mövenpick

movenpick_khobar_2017_aa-1We went in to the Mövenpick shop, and, against our usual tastes, went with the lemon sorbet just to try something different. Plus, it sounded cool and refreshing, and felt just right for this weather.

It was sweet yet sour, tangy and utterly delicious. The three of us quickly finished the small cup.

I felt heavy from all the desserts we’ve had, but my friend was determined and had to finish this adventure of hers no matter what.

Godiva

godiva_khobar_2017_aa-3Our next stop was Godiva and we knew we had to get their classic ice cream. I like vanilla while my friend loves chocolate. Thankfully, we were three people.

“One order of the classic soft serve, a mix of vanilla and chocolate, please!”

I mean, you can’t go wrong with that. The chocolate tasted rich and it was even better combined with the vanilla. It was gone in a flash.

“Khalas, girls. I can’t do this anymore,” I exclaimed.

“Just one more. You can do it.”

Häagen-Dazs

He had me at the words salted and caramel. I just had to have it. And, you know what? We couldn’t have ended the hunt on a better note.

The adventure was fun, silly and extremely enjoyable. I highly recommend you get some friends together and do an ice cream hunt that’ll fill your stomach with tasty treats and your heart with awesome memories.
