Bringing the True Taste of Sichuan Cuisineto the UAE
Culinary maestro Chef Benson Peng, Head Chef of Sichuan Cuisine at Shangri-La Hotel, Chengdu, is set to captivate the palates of diners in the UAE as a part of the hotel’s ‘Taste of Shangri-La’ campaign.
Chef Peng is renowned for his mastery of bold flavors and innovative techniques and expertly balances the seven essential flavors of Sichuan cuisine: sweet, sour, numbing, spicy, bitter, fragrant, and salty. His dishes, crafted from high-quality ingredients and executed with meticulous precision, are celebrated for their rich aromas and authentic taste.
The Chef is trained under the legendary Sichuan cuisine master Zhang Zhongyou and has inherited traditional recipes while infusing them with his unique touch. One of the highlights of his visit will be his signature dish, Simmered Mandarin Fish w ith Vegetables and Assorted Mushroom in Spicy Chili Oil, a delicately prepared masterpiece infused with authentic Sichuan spices.
Shangri-La Dubai
Chef Peng will be taking over Shangri-La Dubai from the 9th to the 13th of October, offering guests a chance to immerse in the art of Sichuan cuisine.
