Saudi Arabian Grand Prix Announces 2025 Dates

‘It’s lights out and away we go!’ at everyone’s beloved Jeddah Corniche Circuit. The Saudi Arabian Grand Prix promises another exciting Formula 1 race, as it makes it way back in 2025.


 

The dates were officially announced on their Instagram page on the 13th of April, 2024. With a list of 24 exhilarating Formula 1 races in many different countries, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will be taking place from Sunday, 18th of April to the 20th of April at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Home to the Fastest Street Circuit and with much to anticipate, the Saudi Grand Prix race is bound to be bring in major excitement and plot twists, just as they did this year, and we cannot wait for it.

What is the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix all about?

The Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, known as جائزة السعودية الكبرى in Arabic, made its debut in 2021 as a Formula One racing event. The first race was held at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, in Saudi Arabia, marking the fifth full-night race in the Formula One calendar, alongside the Singapore, Bahrain, Sakhir, and Qatar Grand Prix.

 

The race includes 10 teams, with two drivers each, racing against one another in hybrid racers with internal combustion engines powered by fossil fuels, and the race consists of a total of 50 laps, that run on for almost two hours. Once done, three main winners stand on the podium, and celebrate their victory.

The official winners of the 2024 Saudi GP were namely, Max Verstappen, at P1 (first place), Checo ‘Sergio’ Perez at P2 (second place), both driving for Red Bull Racing and, Charles Leclerc positioned at P3 (third place), driving for Ferrari.  As for the star of the show, it was the talented British F2 driver Oliver Bearman, who made his official F1 Debut with Ferrari that weekend and succeeded in attaining the title of ‘Driver of The Day’. Oliver replaced the Spanish driver, Carlos Sainz, as he had to undergo an urgent surgery a night before the official race.

Where will the 2025 Saudi GP be held? 

Just as every year, the race will take place at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.

Situated along Jeddah’s picturesque Corniche area, about 12 kilometers north of the city center, the circuit runs along the Red Sea coastline, encircling a lagoon. The track’s illuminated setting creates a breathtaking backdrop for each race.

Ranking as the calendar’s second-longest circuit, this track is also one of the fastest, averaging nearly 245 km/h (151 mph) around each lap. Its design is optimized to highlight Formula One’s thrilling speed to the fullest extent.
