Oh, come on Riyadh, you knew this was coming. You knew we were going to do this. We only had the one talk-worthy event this weekend, but boy it was a good one.

#RiyadhLife, we’re looking at you, your brilliant humorous culmination of all that is awesome about this city. The people rose to the Snapchat occasion with wit, charm, and general slapstick, and it was epic. Some of the funniest didn’t even make it to the actual story, which we think is a bummer, so without further ado, here are our favorites!

We won’t lie, when we first checked out the story we were, er… skeptical.

We mean, really? Really? It’s not even egg-baking weather yet! We should know, we have a tray of cookie dough we’ve been meaning to experiment on.

But then, the humorists kicked in. And things got beautiful.

We died. DIED.

We took those nasty stereotypes and owned them, and there ain’t a higher level of awesome than that.

And then some.

After which, of course, the whole thing spilled onto Twitter. Naturally.

 Wisecracking is what Saudis do best.

And the verdict came out: Riyadh wins all.

HAHAHAHAHA IN YOUR FACES, JEDDAH DUBAI. Ahem.

Now everyone assumes we live in some kind of desert jungle lion habitat, and we’re cool with that.

(Yes, that is the DR offices. What can we say? This city has more alpha kitties than we thought.)
