Lace up your trainers, the Kingdom Duathlon is here.

Get ready to sweat it out during the Saudi National Day weekend as the run, bike and run again event takes over the capital.

You will be navigating the beautiful grounds of King Abdulaziz Equestrian Field for the Sunday and Monday duathlon.

So pace yourself and do a carb-load. Here is everything to know about the exciting event.

Kingdom Duathlon 2024

A marathon with a twist, duathlons are all about running and biking. So if you cannot swim, you won’t be floundering.

You can join the short fun run for all ages on day one or go for the full event on day two. First held in 2023, the event is returning for the Saudi National Day with two new categories, team relay duathlon and under 8 kids duathlon.

Oil your gears and set your chains. The event will run from Sunday September 22 to Monday September 23.

You will be running, biking and running again around the King Abdulaiz Equestrian Field.

Registration for the event is still open and you can register via raceresult.com.

Kingdom Duathlon distances

There are three different events for you to participate in and each comes with different distances.

• Day one: Kids duathlon

There are three age groups eligible for the 500 metre run, one kilometre bike and 250 metre run. If your little ones are under 8, 8 to 10 years or 10 to 14 years old, they can participate in the event.

• Day one: Saudi National Day Fun Run

Open to all ages, the three kilometre run will start from 4.30pm.

• Day two: Sprint duathlon singles and teams

Only open to those aged 15 and up, the event will feature a five kilometre run and 20 kilometre run which will end with a 2.5 kilometre run.

Kingdom Duathlon timings

The Kids duathlon on Sunday will begin at 7am while the all-ages fun race will commence at 4.30pm. All the day two festivities will begin from 7am.

Kingdom Duathlon prizes

All finishers will get a finisher medal while the top three will get trophies in the male, female and kids categories. You will also get a digital certificate as well as personalised photos and videos.

Sports and Saudi

You can look forward to the awesome boxing event Latino Night from Riyadh Season 2024 that will support the excellence of Latin boxing talent. There is also the 6 Kings Slam, Saudi Arabian Grand Prix the E Grand Prix which will be moving to Jeddah soon and of course the African Super Cup.
