Katara Studios, a pan-Arab content creation hub based in Doha, has officially revealed its newest slate of projects during an exclusive showcase at the Red Sea International Film Festival.
This exciting event marks the studio’s first-ever content roadshow, signifying its mission to craft authentic and universally resonant stories.
- “Sakhr” (Feature Biopic Film) – An inspiring portrayal of a remarkable Arab figure, Mr. Mohamed Al Sharekh, the creator of Sakhr computers whose legacy continues to have an impact today.
- “Sari & Amira” (Feature Film) – A heartwarming tale of love and resilience, showcasing the power of unity in overcoming challenges, told through a unique Fantasy Epic film.
- Synopsis: In the unforgiving deserts of Wadi Sakheema, bandits Amira and Sari seek a legendary treasure, battling mythical beasts and navigating their marital misadventures to rediscover the true treasure of their love.Starring: Alex Uloom, Hala Al Turk, Abdelmohsen Al Nemr, Adwa Fahad
- “Sa3oud Wainah” (The first commercial Qatari feature film) – Marks a new chapter for Qatari cinema, taking the industry to new heights. With an entirely Qatari cast, this mystery thriller blends local talent with a gripping story that has global appeal.
- Synopsis: A magic trick goes horribly wrong when two brothers attempt to replicate it years after learning it from their father.Starring: Mishal Al Dosari, Abdulaziz Al Dorani, Saad Al Naimi
- “Anne Everlasting” (Documentary) – A thought-provoking exploration of timeless human connections, offering insights into shared human experiences.
- Synopsis: At 89, Anne Lorimor returns to Mount Kilimanjaro to reclaim her title as the oldest person to summit. As she climbs, her past struggles and resilience are revealed, paralleling the challenges of the ascent. Her journey highlights perseverance and the mission of her foundation, Creating Exciting Futures.

Members of the Katara Studios team, including Hussein Fakhri (CCO), Salman Al-Muhannadi (Communication Manager), Fahad Al-Kuwari (Senior Content Developer/ Film Writer), Mohammed Al Ibrahim (Senior Content Developer/ Director), Liam Ruddel (Head of Sound), Maryam Al-Sahli (Post Production Manager/ Film Editor), and Luca Bercovici (SVP of Film, TV & Music/ Executive Producer), took the stage to share their vision and insights into the creative process behind these projects. Together, they emphasised the studio’s commitment to storytelling excellence and its dedication to nurturing Arab talent.
Katara Studios has also built an impressive portfolio of diverse content and immersive experiences. Previous works include “Medinah” (Season 1), a top-performing sci-fi series on STARZPLAY; “Orca”, a Farsi language feature film; “The Pact”, an original sci-fi drama on The Roku Channel and Chasing Dreams, an inspiring sports docu-drama now showing on Shahid. The studio also made a significant mark with its productions for the “FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™” opening and closing ceremonies and the “The Lost Chapter of Kelileh wa Demneh” live show for the “AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023™” Opening Ceremony.
