Prepare to become the master of the stairs this month because the stylish district is KAFD vertical race (yes, you read that right).

The first-ever of its kind in the area, the KAFD Vertical race will feature athletes from all fitness levels tackling the monumental feat of crossing the third tallest building in the Kingdom on foot.

You will start from the bottom of the staircase and climb until you reach the top step.

What’s more, registration for the unique race has opened up.

So strap on your smart watch. Here is everything you need to know about the vertical race.

KAFD vertical race

If you are looking for a way to test your fitness and endurance, this is the race for you. Happening in late November, the vertical race will have participants from all over Saudi flocking to the financial district and lining up in front of of the most iconic towers in the capital city, the PIF Tower.

The race will have you climbing 61 floors in an effort to be crowned the winner of the first-ever race of its kind in the capital.

Runners will take over the PIF tower in an effort to conquer the proverbial steel mountain.

You will kick off from the starting line on Saturday, November 23 from 9am to 10am.

Registration for the race has opened up on platinumlist.net for SAR100.

You can try to go all the way to the top by crossing 61 floors or you can do half of it and stop at the 31st floor.

More about the KAFD vertical race

Doors for the race will open at 7.30am and you can pick your race kits up from then until 8.30am. The race will start at 9am and end at 10am with a prize distribution ceremony set for 10.10am. The event will end at 1pm.

Open to everyone aged 16 and up, the race will have a healthy food and beverage zone, a stretching area, a section to warm-up.

Running is quickly becoming a major fave of the Kingdom with many people doing annual events like the scotching AlUla Blaze, the Riyadh marathon, the Tuwaiq Trail race, and more.
