What led you to become a tour guide?
My passion for showcasing Saudi Arabia to visitors from around the world led me to this industry. I enjoy highlighting the beauty of the Kingdom and its diverse landscapes, as well as sharing cultural insights about different regions.
What are your thoughts on exploring, especially in Saudi?
Saudi Arabia offers everything you need within its borders. Explore its diverse topography, from beaches and lush green mountains in the south to the historical wonders of AlUla and Tabuk in the north. The country boasts the stunning Red Sea coast and the expansive Empty Quarter. Discover mountains like Tuwaiq and charming traditional villages. Each destination is a mustvisit, providing an unforgettable experience you won’t regret.
What is your go-to advice for exploring the city?
I prefer conducting my city tours either early in the morning or during sunset to allow ample time for exploration. Hiking, on the other hand, is more enjoyable at night. Water is the most crucial item to carry on a hike; staying hydrated is essential, especially in summer. Navigating sandy areas is the most challenging aspect of hiking or offroading, requiring skill, composure, and experience for safe navigation. When offroading, having a skilled driver who can handle unexpected obstacles is crucial. Therefore, I recommend having an experienced driver accompany you during offroading adventures.
What are your favorite cities in the country to explore?
While I have traveled extensively throughout the Kingdom, my favorite city remains Riyadh. However, I foresee Abha becoming a contender, particularly in the next three to four years, once its projects are complete. Additionally, cities like AlBaha, AlNamas, and Jazan are incredibly beautiful, especially when the weather is nice.
What is the most rewarding part of being a tour guide?
Being a tour guide is incredibly rewarding because you educate people about our country, culture, and heritage. People are always curious and eager to hear our stories, so being able to answer their questions and teach them about the Kingdom is the most fulfilling aspect for me. To be a successful tour guide, you must be welleducated and informed enough to address these inquiries.
What is something you can’t wait to explore in Saudi?
I can’t wait to see NEOM once the project is completed. I’ve visited before, and it’s beautiful, but once the project is finished, I’m excited to explore it even more.
