A portrait of Egyptian society reshaped by the forces of globalization, through the story of widow Aisha, her five children, and a manipulative and controlling son-in-law. As each character struggles for space, Aisha comes to regret allowing her daughter’s suitor to become part of their lives. Exploring the effects wrought on an individual’s values and ambitions by the constrictions of poverty and socio-political changes.
