His award-winning films have competed around the world at major international film festivals and are considered classics of the Arab canon. They include “After the Battle” (2012), which competed for the Palme d’Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival. “Brooks, Meadows, and Lovely Faces” (2016); “Scheherazade, Tell Me a Story” (2009); “The Aquarium” (2008); “The Gate of Sun” (2004); and “The City” (1999).
