With $1 million on the line and 128 of the world’s best players ready to compete, the World Pool Championship is back in Saudi Arabia for the second year in a row, and the excitement is real.

For six days straight, Jeddah will host the World Pool Championship, welcoming some of the best players from different parts of the world, such as the US, Taiwan, Germany, the Philippines, the UK, and of course, Saudi Arabia. The lineup includes world-renowned names like defending champion Fedor Gorst, American legend Shane Van Boening, Filipino star Johann Chua, and Saudi Arabia’s own rising talent Khalid Al-Ghamdi.
More than just about winning and taking the stage, the tournament is also about competing against the best of the best on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
The tournament is part of a ten-year partnership between the Saudi Arabian Billiard & Snooker Federation and Matchroom, aiming to cement Saudi Arabia’s place on the global pool and snooker map.

World Pool Championship: What to expect

At the press launch, excitement was everywhere. Emily Frazer, CEO of Matchroom, revealed a brand-new trophy and praised Saudi Arabia’s role in pushing cue sports forward.
Reigning champ Fedor Gorst was always clear on his mission to defend her title, and that she’s looking forward to facing some of the best competitors or players.
Filipino star Johann Chua, American great Shane Van Boening and Saudi player Khalid Al-Ghamdi, are all geared up and ready to take on the challenge with excitement and thrill.
The tournament starts with a double elimination phase, where players need two wins to advance. After that, the top 64 enter a single elimination round. Early matches are race-to-nine racks, the later rounds move to race-to-11, and the grand final? A race-to-15 showdown on July 26.
That means six days packed with 223 matches, sixteen tables in action, and plenty of edge-of-your-seat moments. Whether you’re catching it live in Jeddah or watching from home, the World Pool Championship promises wall-to-wall excitement.
