World Art Day, celebrated every April 15, is a global shoutout to creativity, officially launched by the International Association of Art in 2012. The idea sparked at their 17th General Assembly in Guadalajara, thanks to a proposal by Turkey’s Bedri Baykam and co-signed by art champs from around the world. They picked April 15 to honor the legendary Leonardo da Vinci—an icon of peace, imagination, and cultural unity—reminding us that art isn’t just beautiful, it’s a force that connects us all.
