The Winter at Tantora Festival, running from December 19, 2024, to January 11, 2025, concluded after welcoming thousands of visitors from the region and around the world to celebrate the region’s longest-standing cultural, artistic, and musical event.

The festival that takes its name from the traditional sundial in Old Town AlUla offered a diverse array of events and activities for every type of traveller.

Music was a highlight of the festival, featuring an impressive lineup that resonated with the attendees, exceeding expectations. Memorable performances included the sold-out Sanaam AlUla Night, which combined music, culture, and traditions in honour of the 2024 Saudi Year of the Camel; a concert by Abeer Nehme and The National Arab Orchestra; and the Amal Maher – Echoes of a Thousand Nights event.

Other standout acts included the Macintosh Show with Saber Rebai, Zena Emad, Aziz Maraka, and Daffy, as well as the Marwan Khoury and HAUSER concert. Meanwhile, ‘Shorfat Tantora’ enchanted audiences at AlJadidah and AlManshiyah Plaza with a rich tapestry of Saudi and local musical acts spread across four weekends.  These events underscored AlUla’s dedication to showcasing both local and international musical talent, delighting attendees and reflecting the growing demand for such performances in the region.

A centrepiece of the festival was its immersive experiences, designed to transport visitors into AlUla’s rich cultural narratives through expansive outdoor settings and interactive storytelling. Guests enjoyed the Immersive Theatre Experience, the Premium Pass ‘The Wedding Guest Experience,’ and the In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta – Discovery Tour.

The Immersive Theatre Experience guided visitors on a magical journey filled with mystery and secrets, led by Azira, a character symbolising AlUla’s history.

The Premium Pass ‘The Wedding Guest Experience’ offered an elegant evening of dining and celebration inspired by the traditions of weddings in AlUla’s Old Town, blending culinary delights with cultural immersion.

The Discovery Tour “In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta” provided a unique perspective on AlUla’s historical significance, inviting guests to explore the Old Town and Oasis through the lens of the medieval world. By retracing the steps of the legendary explorer Ibn Battuta, participants gained insights into AlUla’s past as a bustling market town and sanctuary for pilgrims.

Although Winter at Tantora has drawn to a close, many of its most popular attractions remain open for an extended period. The Immersive Theatre Experience will run until January 24, while the AlManshiyah Carnival and The Wedding Guest Experience continue until January 25. The In the Footsteps of Ibn Battuta – Discovery Tour will remain available until January 29.

Visitors can also enjoy the culinary offerings at SASS’ Café AlUla and Ducasse AlUla restaurants, which will continue to serve exquisite dishes amidst AlUla’s idyllic landscapes.
