The Red Sea International Film Festival is giving young Saudi storytellers a stage to shine. The newly announced initiative, Voices of Tomorrow, opens the door for talents aged 10 to 16 to share their stories through short films. These films will be showcased in Jeddah’s historic Al-Balad district from December 4–13, 2025, offering an exciting platform for the Kingdom’s next generation of filmmakers.
A Platform for Young Creators

Voices of Tomorrow is basicallya chance for young Saudis to express themselves and explore the world around them through cinema. Participants are encouraged to create short films that revolve around four main themes: homeland, school, family, and friendship. These themes are designed to reflect the everyday experiences of youth, allowing them to tell stories that feel personal, relatable, and meaningful.
For many, this is a first step into filmmaking, providing an opportunity to build confidence, learn new skills, and engage with the creative process in a professional environment. It’s an initiative that celebrates imagination, curiosity, and the unique perspectives of Saudi youth.
Screenings, Celebrations, and Awards
Selected films will be screened on December 9, 2025, in the presence of the young filmmakers and their families. The program will wrap up on December 10 with an awards ceremony recognizing two standout films. Winners will receive cash prizes and trophies, chosen by a youth jury. This approach not only highlights talent but also encourages peer engagement and learning, making it a truly inclusive experience for all participants.
The screenings and celebrations aim to give participants a full sense of the filmmaking journey, from crafting a story to seeing it on the big screen. By participating in Voices of Tomorrow, these young filmmakers gain hands-on exposure to the professional side of cinema while having fun and connecting with their peers.
Investing in the Future of Saudi Cinema

Faisal Baltyuor, CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, emphasized the importance of nurturing young talent: “Voices of Tomorrow reflects our conviction that the next generation will shape the future of cinema. The program invests directly in their creativity and potential, giving them the platform to share their stories and take their first steps into the world of filmmaking, underscoring our ongoing commitment to nurturing emerging and young talent.”
By focusing on youth, the initiative strengthens the foundation of a sustainable film industry in Saudi Arabia. It also reinforces the festival’s role as a cultural hub that supports creativity and provides real opportunities for growth.
A Complete Learning Experience

Beyond filmmaking, Voices of Tomorrow is designed as a comprehensive learning experience. Participants will attend screenings, engage with juries, and be part of a dedicated celebration, giving them a taste of the professional filmmaking world. These interactions help young talents understand the effort that goes into creating films and the different elements that contribute to a successful project.
The program is not only about making films; it’s about building skills, fostering collaboration, and encouraging young Saudis to see the possibilities in creative storytelling. Each participant’s journey through Voices of Tomorrow will leave them with memories, lessons, and motivation to continue exploring their creative passions.
