If you thought immersive art had reached its peak, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is here to gently (and beautifully) prove you wrong. The multi-sensory destination continues its mission to blur the lines between art, technology, and human perception with the launch of two striking new installations: Massless Suns and Dark Suns and Megaliths in the Roots Garden.

From December 16, 2025, visitors can step into experiences that don’t just surround you, they respond to you. At teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, art isn’t something you look at; it’s something you move through, influence, and feel.

Descend Into “Megaliths in the Roots Garden”

The journey begins above ground, but it doesn’t stay there. One of the most captivating aspects of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is how it encourages exploration, and Megaliths in the Roots Garden does exactly that.

As visitors move downstairs, the artwork reveals its hidden layer: tree roots extending into open air, suspended as if caught between worlds. These roots grow freely in mid-air, surrounded by towering megaliths that rise from the ground, creating a powerful visual conversation between nature and architecture.

It’s a quiet but profound reminder that life adapts, survives, and thrives, even in the most unexpected environments. This evolving installation perfectly reflects the philosophy behind teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, where nothing is static and every perspective matters.

Light Without Limits in “Massless Suns and Dark Suns”

The experience continues with Massless Suns and Dark Suns, an artwork that challenges how we understand light itself. At teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, light becomes an intangible medium, what the artists call a “Cognitive Sculpture.”

Here, glowing spheres of light respond to visitors, forming an ever-shifting landscape shaped by movement and perception. Just like the gravity-defying roots below, this installation exists only through experience. The boundaries between light and darkness blur, guiding guests through a space where art lives entirely in the mind and moment.

Art That Breathes, Changes, and Reacts

What sets teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi apart is its commitment to “living art.” Each installation evolves in real time, responding fluidly to visitor presence and environmental conditions. No two visits are ever the same, and that’s entirely the point.

As Takashi Kudo, Communications Director of teamLab, explains, the goal is to spark curiosity, connection, and creativity, inviting guests to explore spaces that feel alive rather than observed.
