4. The 3 Quls:
Narrated ‘Aisha (R): Whenever the Prophet went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surah Al Ikhlas, Surah Al Falaq and Surah Al Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times. (Sahih Al-Bukhari)
Surah Ikhlas:
The 112th Surah of the Quran, Surah Ikhlas has the following benefits:
- Recitation of this surah equals to the reward of reading one third of the Quran. Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) came out to us and said:
“I am going to recite before you one-third of the Qur’an. He (the Holy Prophet) then recited:” Say: He is Allah, One Allah, the Eternal,”
to the end of the Surah
- One who reads Surah Ikhlas 3 times, gets reward equivalent to the reading of a full Quran.
- It shields from catastrophe and trouble by acting as a treatment of many ailments. It is a provides safety against misery, pain, problems, hardships, disaster, mishap and tragedy. Abu Hurayrah reported that the Prophet (PBUH) heard a man reciting Qul huwa Allaahu ahad, and said,
“It is his right.”
They asked,‘O Messenger of Allaah, what is his right?’ He said,
‘Paradise is his right.’ (Reported by Imaam Ahmad, 7669)
- The Prophet (PBUH) also said:
“Whoever recites Qul huwa Allaahu ahadten times, Allaah will build for him a house in Paradise.” (Saheeh al-Jaami’ al-Sagheer, 6472).
