Find it difficult to leave your warm bed in the cold ‘ber mornings of Saudi? Well, get ready for an extra half-hour of sleep because the Saudi winter school timings 2025 have been revealed.
Announced by the general Directorate of Education, the new timings will be observed in major Saudi cities including Riyadh and Madinah from Sunday, November 2.
The winter shift will be running until Tuesday, February 17, following which shortened school hours will be introduced for the holy month of Ramadan.
Officials explained that the new schedule aligns with this year’s daylight saving measures, designed to make better use of natural sunlight and improve school hour efficiency.
Saudi winter school timings 2025
Asir
One of the first provinces to introduce the Saudi winter school timings, Southern Asir’s General Administration of Education announced that all public and private schools will commence classes from 7.30am.
- Morning assembly: 7.15am
- Classes begin: 7.30am
Riyadh
All boys and girls schools under the General Administration of Education in the capital city will begin classes from 7am.
- Morning assembly: 6.45am
- Classes begin: 7am
Madinah
The Madinah Education Administration has also implemented winter hours with girls’ schools starting from 7.30am and boys’ schools starting from 7.45am.
