Saudi residents, listen up!
The Kingdom will be running an emergency preparedness test this week in order to ensure that everything works well.
While the Saudi siren tests do not require you to respond in any way, it is better you know what to expect to avoid unnecessary panic.
Led by the General Directorate of Civil Defense, these city-wide tests are part of the Kingdom’s efforts to improve the reliability and readiness of the Saudi emergency communications systems.
First reported by Gulf News, the alarms will go-off at 1.15pm.

Heads up, Saudi Arabia, if you hear sirens tomorrow don’t panic. The General Directorate of Civil Defence will be running a nationwide siren test across select areas to boost emergency preparedness and make sure everyone knows what to do in case of a real alert. It’s all part of an ongoing effort to keep communities informed, aware, and ready for anything.

According to the warning messages from Civil Defense, the tests will be conducted in Riyadh, Tabuk, and Jeddah. However, only parts of each city will be able to hear the sirens. The test will echo across Diriyah, Al Kharj, and Al Dilam in the Riyadh region, as well as parts of Tabuk, plus Jeddah and Thuwal over in the Makkah region.

The testing will commence on Monday, November 3 from 1pm and end with the sirens sounding off at 1.15pm.
What to expect from the Saudi siren tests 2025

At exactly 1pm, you’ll hear the new behavioural alert tone, followed by the national alert at 1.10pm, and finally the full siren test at 1.15pm. Alongside the sound test, the Civil Defence will send out warning messages through the National Early Warning Platform, straight to your phone. Each alert comes with its own distinct tone, making it easy for everyone to recognize and stay tuned in to Saudi Arabia’s growing emergency alert system.
