Planning on a haul to kick-off the new year with a massive dose of dopamine? You may want to put a pause on that.

The Transport General Authority (TGA) has announced that without a registered Saudi national address no parels will be delivered.

The rule was announced via the official X (formerly Twitter) account of the TGA. According to the tweet, the change will be implemented as the clock ticks down to midnight on New Year’s Eve.

So, if you do not have a registered address on gov.sa, you have almost 15 days to get that sorted.

The Transport General Authority has urged individuals and businesses to register their Saudi national address in advance of a new rule. Once implemented, parcel delivery companies will no longer be allowed to accept or transport any shipments that do not include a registered national address.

You have until Wednesday, December 31 to register your national address to avoid facing delivery delays. The new rule will be implemented on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Why Saudi national address was made necessary for parcel delivery

The Authority explained that the decision is part of a strategic effort to enhance customer experience and speed up delivery services, while also cutting down on unnecessary back and forth between couriers and recipients.

It added that the move helps ensure smoother operations and greater accuracy across parcel delivery processes, allowing companies to operate more efficiently.

The TGA also highlighted that using the national address system allows for precise identification of residential and commercial locations, which plays a key role in strengthening the overall efficiency of logistics services across the Kingdom.
