The Kingdom has been tightening its health and food safety measures. Following a food poisoning outbreak in 2024 that left over 70 people sick, Saudi Arabia is now doing everything to stomp out the possibility of getting sick from food.
After introducing new rules for fine dining establishments, the Kingdom has announced fresh indoor smoking rules, according to Gulf News.

Not only that but the Ministry of Municipalities and and Housing has dropped an announcement on their official X account, formerly Twitter, highlighting various other violations.

If you are tired of having second-hand smoke dominating your dinner, then you are in luck because the Kingdom has announced a heavy fine for people smoking indoors. The fine will be imposed on those caught smoking in undesignated smoking areas in restaurants.
Other violations include poor hygiene, misleading sales tactics, and failure to follow food safety regulations.

Get ready to shell out SAR5,000 because that is how much it will cost you if you are caught using tobacco-based smoking devices inside restaurants.
If you work in food preparation areas and are not wearing a face mask and hairnet you will be fined SAR1,000 for each breach in food safety.
Got deliveries? Make sure to wear the official company uniform or you will be fined SR500.
Frozen fruit juices being hawked as freshly pressed ones will have sellers paying SAR1,000 while those working in restaurants and cafes will pay SAR2,000 if caught touching their noses, mouths, and or spitting.
