Say hello to the future of food delivery in Riyadh Backed by the Transport General Authority, this high-tech launch is part of ROSHN’s big-picture plan for innovation, growth, and sustainability.

So what’s the buzz? Picture this: sleek little delivery robots cruising around the business district, bringing meals right to your doorstep. Jahez snagged the first-ever license from the TGA’s regulatory sandbox, making this launch a true first in the Kingdom. For now, these robo-couriers will be on the move during working hours, giving you a sneak peek at how delivery could soon be a hands-free, high-tech experience.

The delivery robots will be roving and beeping around the ROSHN Front business district for now. Once successful, the delivery radius will be expanded to the shopping area as well. There are plans to expand the service to all ROSHN Group-backed communities.

Starting this week, five smart little delivery robots will be zipping around ROSHN Front from 9am to 5pm, bringing you lunch straight from nearby restaurants. These high-tech helpers are packed with over 20 sensors, six cameras, GPS, and even their own cooling system to beat the Saudi heat.

But here’s the fun part: they’re not just smart, they’re polite, too. When navigating crowded walkways, they can flash friendly messages like “Hello” or “I need help” to chat with pedestrians. Thanks to built-in suspension, they can also handle a few bumps along the way. It’s like having a tiny, rolling R2-D2 deliver your shawarma.

Saudi and automation

This isn’t Saudi’s first brush with automation. In July, the Kingdom announced the pilot phase of self-driving taxis called Robotaxis. Beyond transportation, Saudi has been working tirelessly to incorporate regulated AI into various sectors including medicine with the first-ever AI doctor. PIF recently announced its very own AI company Humain which will develop the world’s most powerful Arabic Large Language Models (LLM).

Now delivering across ROSHN Business District. @saudi_TGA.
