Saudi air taxi service

First reported by Saudi Gazette, this step fits into Saudi Arabia’s bigger plan to roll out advanced air mobility, fully aligned with the Kingdom’s aviation strategy for next generation transport. The aim is simple and ambitious: transform Saudi cities into future ready hubs for smart, sustainable air travel.
Saudi air taxi service’s rules, safety and early test flights

Under the new agreement, Saudi Arabia and Archer will team up to strengthen the rules and regulations for VTOL aircraft, aligning safety and certification standards with the U.S. FAA. The plan includes test flights, proof of concept demos, infrastructure checks, and public awareness efforts, all aimed at making sure air taxi services can be rolled out safely and at scale.
GACA’s Executive Vice President for Aviation Safety and Environmental Sustainability, Capt. Suleiman Al Muheimeed, said working with global innovators like Archer strengthens the foundations needed to bring VTOL aircraft into Saudi Arabia’s aviation network and supports the Kingdom’s advanced air mobility roadmap.
Archer founder and CEO Adam Goldstein echoed that confidence, praising Saudi Arabia for moving quickly and decisively to build a next generation mobility ecosystem. He added that aligning certification with the FAA and launching early pilot operations will help unlock safe and sustainable air travel for millions.
Saudi transportation

Saudi Arabia is seriously upgrading the way people move around the Kingdom. From self-driving car pilots and the KAFD monorail, getting from A to B is becoming easier than ever. Add to that the upcoming high speed Saudi land bridge rail, a dedicated fast train to Six Flags Qiddiya, and Dream of the Desert opening pre reservations, and it is clear the Kingdom is fast tracking the future of travel. First-ever Saudi Arabia to Qatar high speed rail link has also been announced.
