Al Hilal has been dominating the news cycle.

The most successful Saudi Pro League team has closed out the winter transfer window of 2026 by signing Karim Benzema until 2027.

Portugal’s Ruben Neves Al Hilal contract has also been extended.

The defensive midfielder has been tapped to play for the Riyadh-based team until the end of this decade.

Neves’ contract extension was confirmed via Al Hilal’s official social media channels.

Rúben Neves is one of Portugal’s coolest operators in midfield. The deep-lying playmaker has been a mainstay for both Al Hilal and the Portuguese national team, making his senior international debut at just 18.

With major tournament appearances at Euro 2020, the 2022 World Cup, and Euro 2024, plus UEFA Nations League titles in 2019 and 2025, his résumé speaks for itself. He joined Al Hilal in 2023 in a £47 million (SAR190.86 million) move, bringing leadership, long-range magic, and serious football IQ to the Saudi Pro League.

Neves signed his contract extension on Wednesday, February 4 and confirmed that he will be staying with Al Hilal until 2029.

The Portuguese player made his SPL debut in 2023 and has since then helped the blue and white team secure the Saudi Pro League title, the King’s Cup, and the Saudi Super Cup. He will be joined by Karim Benzema as the French striker makes his Al Hilal debut on Thursday, February 5 in Najran against Al Akhdoud.
