The metro authorities feel the same way, because Riyadh Metro student tickets are coming.
Titled semester tickets, students in the Saudi capital will enjoy flexible options.
What’s more, the metro will also be launching an annual ticket for everyone else that will be made available on the same day as the student tickets.
The exciting news came via the official Instagram account of Riyadh Transport which posts updates for the metro.
So, grab your laptop bags and water bottles. Here is everything to know about the incoming student tickets and annual paases.
Riyadh Metro student tickets 2026
Part of the larger King Abdulaziz Project for Riyadh Public transport, the current metro network has been serving the capital city with six lines, over 80 metro stations and bus routes, 2,860 bus stops, and 842 buses. The project aims to accommodate 1.2 million people per day via trains and 500,000 people via buses on a daily basis.
Earlier in December, the metro announced the much-awaited 65 kilometer Line 7 which will be connecting Qiddiya Entertainment City to other major hubs in the Saudi capital including King Khalid International Airport.

The new student tickets and annual passes will be released on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Start off your new year with flexible travel.
Riyadh Metro student tickets 2026 prices
The new ticket type will be available to all school and university students and will be valid for one full semester. Priced at SAR260, the pass will remain active for four months and is available for only the regular class.
Annual passes on the other hand will be valid for one year and be available for first-class cabins (SAR3,150) and regular cabins for SAR1,260.

Both semester and annual tickets will offer flexible options that will let you enjoy unlimited travel for a fixed price. More information will be released closer to the launch date of the tickets.
