The masterplan, as it stands, will be spread over a whopping 6sqkm. In true Saudi fashion, this makes it one of the largest sites for a World Expo event. Nations joining the expo are being encouraged to erect permanent pavilions in an effort to create business and investment opportunities and eventual growth. Riyadh Expo is set to attract over 40 million visitors.
Riyadh Metro

The metro is quickly becoming the city’s preferred method of travelling. The Red Line expansion contract was awarded earlier this year and is expected to be completed in the coming six years. After introducing new rules and fines, the network announced the additional support of the bus on demand service which has completely re-defined the public transportation experience. There is also the new Park and Ride feature which is free for the first 12 hours.
