The first-ever Riyadh art week was announced back in January and since then has brushed up the excitement.
The event is all about celebrating the artistic pulse that thrums through the city and will highlight the vibrant Saudi art scene. It will also feature collaborations between local and international galleries.
Not only was the theme for the week recently revealed the Visual Art Commission has also dropped the names of the Riyadh Art week curators.

Riyadh Art week curators
The Visual Arts Commission is rolling out the very first art week in the capital, and it’s going to be a feast for the eyes. This festival isn’t just about stunning visuals—it’s all about elevating the city’s creative vibes and adding a splash of color to everyday life, perfectly in tune with the bold goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
Expect a citywide art takeover, with exhibitions popping up in key locations and an exciting mix of local and global art powerhouses, galleries, collectors, and patrons joining the party.
Not only that, but the all-things art festival will be celebrating Saudi talent because everything is better when it is homegrown.
Riyadh Art Week 2025 dates
The art week will kick off on Sunday, April 6 and close out on next Sunday, April 13.

The week will take over the heart of art in Riyadh, Diriyah’s Jax District along with several other locations that will be announced closer to the week.

Riyadh Art Week curators
The curatorial team has everyone buzzing with excitement as big names like Vittoria Matarrese, artistic director and curator, will be joined by the likes of Basma Harasani and Victoria Gandit Lelandais as the associate curators. The public program curator will be Shumon Basar.
Riyadh Art Week theme
along with the Riyadh Art Week curators, the Visual Arts Commission has also revealed the theme. While not much is known about the theme at this time, the title is “At the Edge”.
Riyadh Art Week activities
JAX District will be the main location for Riyadh Art Week, while other key locations will also host events. The week will feature art pieces by over 30 regional, local, and international galleries and collections.
It will also feature interactive seminars, panel discussions, and special events aimed at showcasing Riyadh’s cultural vibrancy, changing artistic landscape, and expanding global influence.
