Reach for the sky and that is exactly what Saudi is doing.
The Kingdom’s motto is not go big or go home, its go biggest in the world. Don’t believe us? Just look at the recently unveiled plans for Rise Tower Riyadh.
The looming tower will pierce the Saudi skyline at a whopping two kilometers or 6,562ft. What’s more, it is expected to be the tallest building in the world upon completion leaving the likes of Dubai’s Burj Khalifa, Malaysia’s Merdeka One, and the Makkah Clock Tower behind.
First announced back in 2023, the building is a part of one of the many exciting giga-projects coming to the Kingdom including the city of leisure and culture, Qiddiya City.
Global architecture firm HSK has revealed the design plans for Rise Tower and they are as stunningly gorgeous as you would expect.
Designs for Rise Tower released 2025

Rise Tower is set to rewrite the record books in Riyadh and the skyline with an eye-watering planned height of two kilometers. That’s a staggering 1,180 meters taller than the Burj Khalifa and nearly a full kilometer higher than Jeddah Tower. With 678 floors of ambition, this PIF-backed mega-project, dreamed up in late 2022 and revealed in August 2023, aims to be the tallest building, and statement, on Earth.
Rise Tower location
The glittering tower will sit along North Riyadh and serve as a Statue of Liberty-esque sign to incoming travellers as they touch down at King Khalid International Airport which will be in close proximity of the building.
Rise Tower construction dates
The construction for the structure is set to begin in 2026.
Rise Tower open dates
Since construction will start next year, no concrete opening dates have been given, but we do know that the involved authorities wish to have a majority of the project completed by 2030.
Rise Tower designs

Rise Tower isn’t just aiming high, it’s aiming for the future. Think air taxis, self-driving cars, and a lightning-fast underground metro zipping through a city built for walking, cycling, and green living. Powered by solar and renewable energy, it’ll blend hotels, offices, observation decks, and dining spots into a sleek, sustainable hub where modern life meets sci-fi dreams.
More giga-projects coming to Saudi

Qiddiya has just announced a partnership with local hospitality brand Adeera to bring three hotels to the city. There is also New Murabba which is bringing five new neighborhoods including Mukaab. The cubidol structure is set to the world’s largest building by volume upon completion (go biggest at its finest).
