Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and a deeply meaningful time for Muslims around the world, centered on fasting, prayer, reflection, and togetherness. From dawn to sunset, adults fast from food and drink, starting the day with suhur and ending it with iftar, while focusing on kindness, patience, and spiritual growth. It marks the month when the Quran was revealed and is considered one of the five pillars of Islam, making it one of the most important times of the year. Beyond the fasting, Ramadan is about slowing down, reconnecting with faith, giving back, and sharing special moments with family and community.
