In a pioneering step towards sustainable energy use, Park Hyatt Jeddah has officially flipped the switch on its newly installed solar power system at Alsohba Parking area.

This project marks the hotel’s first step in generating clean, renewable solar energy to power its golf carts, driving both environmental responsibility and operational efficiency.
The solar installation, which powers two dedicated charging stations for the hotel’s golf cart fleet, boasts a capacity of 5kVA. Designed to fully charge each golf cart between 7 AM and 11 PM, the system ensures that the carts are ready to serve guests throughout the day, all while minimizing reliance on traditional energy sources.
“By flipping the switch on our solar power system, we’re not only taking a significant step towards sustainability but also enhancing our services for guests in a greener, more energy-efficient way,” said Sven Hoffmeyer, General Manager of Park Hyatt Jeddah. “This solar project marks the beginning of our ongoing commitment to reducing our carbon footprint and advancing eco-friendly operations at Park Hyatt Jeddah.”
The solar power system not only powers the golf cart stations but also represents the hotel’s broader initiative to integrate sustainable solutions into its daily operations. By generating sufficient energy to keep the carts running throughout the day, the system reflects the hotel’s commitment to long-term energy savings and environmental stewardship.
