Well, if you live in the Saudi capital then you have not one, but two reasons to rejoice because good things come in pairs.
Two brand-new public parks in Riyadh are being worked on.
Set to be completed by 2030, Riyadh Region Municipality confirmed on Wednesday, January 21, that the green spaces will be spread across approximately 310,000sqm.
The public parks will be different from traditional ones that the capital city has seen in the past and are a part of Saudi Vision 2030‘s efforts to improve Riyadh’s quality of life.

The Riyadh Region Municipality announced the new developments last week. Set to be in the Eastern and Southern districts of the city, the project aims to re-imagine the urban landscape Riyadhians are used to. The integrated urban destinations will also cater to both recreation and environmental sustainability.

The new parks will offer a mix of leisure, culture, and sustainability, featuring a golf course, multi-purpose sports fields, and jogging tracks, alongside family-friendly attractions such as children’s play areas and water features. Designed as vibrant community hubs, they will also include theatre and event spaces, plus a selection of restaurants and cafés to keep the atmosphere lively throughout the day. Environmentally sensitive by design, the parks will incorporate sustainable water use and innovative greening techniques suited to Riyadh’s climate.
