Masjid Quba is the first mosque in Islam, and its foundation stone was laid by the Messenger of God, blessings and peace be upon him, the people of Mecca, the immigrants, and the people of Medina, the Ansar, who supported the Messenger of God, Mohamed, participated in building the mosque. God Almighty praised the mosque by mentioning its virtues in the Holy Quran.
Masjid Quba was built in the first year of Mohamed’s migration, blessings and peace be upon him, to Medina. The mosque was located in a place called Quba, the place where our master Mohamed, stopped during his journey, and from here it was named the Quba Mosque.

The mosque is one of the greatest mosques in Islam. It was built in the neighborhood of Bani Amr bin Auf, one of the Ansar. Masjid Quba has a high status among Muslims, and it is now connected to the Prophet’s Mosque, as it is a 3-kilometer walkway away. It is designated for the people of Medina and visitors to pray in it to follow the Sunnah of the Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him.
Masjid Quba was mentioned in the Qur’an in the words of God Almighty in Surat Al-Tawbah, “A mosque founded on piety from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in it. Within it are men who love to purify themselves, and God loves those who purify themselves.”
The Messenger of Allah, accompanied by Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, arrived in Medina on Monday, the 12th of Rabi` al-Awwal. Then the Prophet built this mosque, which is the place where he and Abu Bakr stayed for the first time in Medina after his migration. The Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, participated in building the mosque, carrying stones, rocks, and sand until his back was bent and the dirt filled his garment. When one of his companions came to him to lift the load from him, he refused and said, Carry similar like me.
Masjid Quba expansions

The mosque has undergone many developments over time, Masjid Quba photos show that, as Uthman bin Affan expanded the mosque during his reign, and during the reign of Omar bin Abdulaziz, he renovated the mosque, and it was cared for throughout Islamic history.
During the Saudi era, Masjid Quba received great care and was rebuilt by King Fahd bin Abdulaziz while preserving the old design. The mosque’s area was increased more than once, and four minarets and domes were built. Today, according to King Salman’s project, the mosque is experiencing the largest expansion and development, as it can accommodate 66,000 prayers while preserving its historical architectural design.
