The Masjid Jinn underwent many renovations throughout the Islamic Caliphate and was also called the Guardians Mosque because the guards of Mecca gathered there during the Umayyad era.

The mosque disappeared due to floods and its traces were searched for until 1714. Its remains were found, as it was 3 meters underground. It was rebuilt, witnessed many renovations and expansions, and was equipped with modern technologies and facilities.
