The artwork, inspired by Lexus’ electric sports car designs, overcomes traditional boundaries. “Shaped by Air” represents a harmonious blend of nature’s tranquility and dynamic energy, capturing the essence of Lexus car design through its play of light, reflections, and the ambient air.
Originally showcased at Miami’s Art and Design Week and later at the Global Design Week in Milan, the artwork stood out among competitors for the Lexus Design Award. Sochi Reddy, an American artist known for her design philosophy of “Form Follows Feeling,” leads Reddy Made, focusing on emotionally engaging designs within spaces.
Her art and architectural practices delve into the intersection of design, justice, and neuroscience, aiming to expand empathy and participation. Reddy’s expertise extends to teaching roles at different institutions like Columbia University and Cooper Union, along with critical engagements at the American Walton University and the University of Illinois’ College of Architecture.
