Kuwait sits on the northern edge of the Arabian Peninsula, at the very top of the Persian Gulf, rubbing shoulders with Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Despite its modest size and 500 km of coastline, it’s a true melting pot, home to 4.82 million people. Most people live in the vibrant, urban sprawl of Kuwait City. The city has been a hub that’s been a strategic trade spot since ancient times thanks to its location near the Tigris and Euphrates.

Today, Kuwait thrives as a high-income emirate with massive oil reserves and a cultural scene that’s earned it the nickname “Hollywood of the Gulf.” From theatre and TV dramas to music and art, Kuwait has been a trendsetter across the Gulf, exporting its creative spark far beyond its borders while remaining a proud founding member of the GCC, the UN, and OPEC.

The Kuwaiti visa on arrival for GCC residents move aims to simplify travel for the large expat community spread across the GCC and bring Kuwait’s entry regulations in line with the region’s tourism trends.
