Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport will be undergoing some massive upgrades come next year.
Operated by Riyadh Airports Company, KKIA terminal transformation 2026 is the first major strategic revamp the travel hub will undergo since its inauguration 40 years ago.

The initiative rolls out new upgrades designed to streamline operations and raise the bar on service, making travel smoother and more enjoyable for everyone passing through.

An exact start date has not been released, but according to the Saudi Gazette, the initiative will begin during Q1 of 2026.

Under the new setup, Terminal 5 becomes the home for international flights operated by foreign airlines, Terminals 3 and 4 switch to domestic travel, and Terminals 1 and 2 stay dedicated to international routes for national carriers. This smart reorganization is set to expand capacity, smooth out passenger flow, cut waiting times, and deliver a more seamless, enjoyable airport experience from curb to gate.
